-Have you ever wondered why our states are shaped the way they are? Why are some boringly square and others truly oversized? Mark Stein will tell us when we discuss these mysteries as told in his book "How the States Got Their Size."

3:15 p.m.
-Last Friday, Dr. Oz was scheduled to be on the show, but had to reschedule due to emergency dental surgery. He's back and will be on during the 3:00 hour to discuss his new stardom and his book "You: The Owner's Manual."

4:15 p.m.
-"Talking Dirt" with Shane Cultra from Country Arbours Nursery. We'll discuss prepping the lawn and garden for spring, plus we'll take listener questions.




Wednesday, May 28
2:15 p.m.
-Along the lines of "The Da Vinci Code' and "National Treasure," Rabbi Benjamin Blech has co-written a new instant best-seller entitled "The Sistine Secrets: Michelangelo's Forbidden Messages in the Heart of the Vatican." Rabbi Blech will be my guest after news at 2.

3:15 p.m.
-For 18 years Michael Damian starred as Danny Romalotti in the #1 soap "The Young and the Restless." That show also launched his singing career that resulted in such hits as "Rock On" and "Was It Nothing at All." Michael Damian will guest during the 3:00 hour to discuss his role on "The Young and the Restless," starring on Broadway in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," his hit records and his new film "Moondance Alexander."

-4:15 p.m.
-Taylor Pensoneau, on his biography of former Illinois Governor Richard Olgivie.





Thursday, May 29
-2:15 p.m.
-stand-up comedian Paula Poundstone.

-3:15 p.m.
-Last week "Designing Women" star Jean Smart was scheduled to be on the show with her husband, actor Richard Gilliland, but Miss Smart fell ill. They are rescheduled for today to discuss their great television roles including her time on '24' and the current hit sitcom 'Samantha Who.'

-4:15 p.m.
-David Dunbar, senior editor for Popular Mechanics magazine, on the book "Why A Curveball Curves: The Incredible Science of Sports."





Friday, May 30

-It's our 1000th show and during the three hour program, some of our favorite guests will return! Scheduled to appear is Henry Winkler (our first celebrity guest), plus Marion Ross, Johnny Mathis, Keith Emerson, REO Speedwagon's Bruce Hall, Roy Leonard and a few surprise guest appearances!
