RECENT GUESTS
It as fun hearing feedback from listeners who enjoyed hearing Otis Day from Otis Day and the Knights on the show last week. Otis Day of course is a fictional character in the now classic film "Animal House." But the actor who signed to play Otis Day has now taken that role to a new level...it's all he does! He'll answer to DeWayne (his real name) or Otis, and they play alot of parties and clubs. Of course "Shout!" always brings the house down. The highlight of the interview was when Otis burped loudly in the middle of a sentence. He admitted he was eating while doing the interview. Otis Day and the Knights performed at the Decatur Celebration this past weekend, and they are busier than ever this year as it is the 30th anniversary of "Animal House!" Can you believe it?!

Also performing at the Decatur Celebration was the 70s group Bay City Rollers. There are actually two versions touring at the moment. This one was headed by Ian Mitchel who was with the group for less than a year, but long enough to be a part of the top ten hit "I Only Want To Be With You." It was great over the weekend hearing comments from people as how much they enjoyed his acent, reliving 'Rollermania" and hearing some of those hits again. Tnanks to all who said such nice things about the interview.

DAVID CASSIDY AND THE STATLER BROTHERS
Speaking of feedback from listeners, I think in the almost five years I have been doing the show, no two shows have received as much feedback as former teen hearthtrob David Cassidy and country music hall-of-famers The Statler Brothers.

I got a bunch of calls asking me when David Cassidy was going to be on, including some old friends at the Assembly Hall who were going to turn it up in the office. It was fun talking about The patridge Family, which was so much a part of my childhood and so many others, and his current CD which is a collection of those hits remixed to a dance beat. It's a good and fun CD! i was flatered when David Cassidy said he had such a good time being on my 1000th show and again about a month or so later, that he wanted to meet and say thanks in person when he performs in Chicago in September at the Rosemont Theatre.

Women older than me thanked me for having him on and did so enthusiastically! It was fun to hear some stories of how huge their David Cassidy fandom was then. His fan base is really strong now. Check out his new CD "Dance Party Remix."

Recntly after church, I had several people tell me how much they loved hearing from Harold and Don Reid of the Statler Brothers. They have long been one of my top requests for guests, but wasn't able to get them on the show until recently. They were awesome and had such a great sense of humor. Great stories. Throughout the next couple weeks, comments kept coming regarding that visit...so thanks so much for the kind words. One more request marked off the list!

Harold and Don Reid, incidentally, are the only two actual brothers in the Statler Brothers. Do you kow how they got their name? They looked across the room when they were trying to figure out what to call themselves, and they saw the brand name of a box of tissues. Statler tissues! They thought it sounded good and the rest is history. Makes me wonder what if they had a box of Kleenex instead...would they be known as "The Kleenex Brothers?" Somehow it doesn't have the same ring to it.

THANKS
I have to say I love hearing from listeners when I am out and about, and I sure appreciate the nice comments. It is funny though...I have between 64 and 70n guests each month and have for almosy=t five years. And I bet the two that have most talked about to me has been David cassidy and The Statler Brothers!

Thanks again...and we'll talk soon!
