Really looking forward to Monday's show..it will be jam packed with wonderful guests. After news at 2 p.m., the great actress and one of my favorite guests Marilu Henner returns to the show. She is such a sincere, delightful, optimistic person and it is very contageous. Just talking to her makes me smile. We'll discuss her great desire and dream of being a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars." I have to believe the show's producers would love to have her and her celebrity and energy on the show. Plus she has a love for dance: her mother was a dance instructor and Marilu started dance lessons at the early age of two. She has also done some Broadway. She would be fun to watch. We will also discuss we could be a future Trivial Pursuit question: "Who was on the last gurney to roll in the emergency room on "E.R.?" The answer is Marilu Henner. She played such a nasty, unlikeable character yuo almost did not recognize her on the show! Her best-selling book "Wear Your Life Well" will be discussed as well. I have to say I also enjoy talking to her because she admits, if I may say so, she enjoys talking to me. She said "You are always so well-prepared and you know what I am talking about." Well, I will be again when she returns sometime in the future. She is welcome any time! During the 3:00 hour will be gaelic singer Julie Fowlis who will be in town for a concert that night. She and her husband Eamon will be in the studio and will perform several songs live. Eamon plays a unique Scottish guitar. I will be anxious to learn more about his instrument. In our final hour after the 4:00 news will be former Assembly Hall director Xen Riggs, whom I worked with for many years at the Assembly Hall. He no doubt is one of the most creative and influential arena directors in the country and it will be a pleasure to see my good friend again and have him in the studio. He is now with Ohio State University. In our first segment we will discuss the proposed merger of Live Nation (concert promoters) and TicketMaster. Who would benefit from this merger? Who would not? How would it effect out concert going experience? Will it increase ticket prices? Xen will give his take on this controversial issue. After 4:30, Xen and I will welcome one of our favorite performers and perhaps the best stand-up comedian out there, Tom Dreesen. We got to know Tom Dreesen when he was the opening act for Frank Sinatra in 1990 at The assembly Hall. We spent a lot of time with Tom and he is a genuinely nice guy and so darn funny. We'll discuss his love for the Chicago Cubs, working with Sinatra, his play he wrote on his friendship with Sinatra and his book "Tim and Tom: An American Comedy in Black and White." The book has just been optioned to be made in to a movie. It is about Tom's comedy partner Tim Reid, who we know best as Venus Flytrap on "WKRP in Cincinatti." Tim and Tom were the first black and white comedy team, and Tom says there hasn't been another since. They have quite a story. I'll never forget the day I got an answering machine message at home from Tom who let me know the he got me tickets to see David Letterman's NBC show for an upcoming trip to New York. Great memories and it will be great to have Tom on the show with us about 4:40 or 4:45. Plus we will give away a dinner for the wonderful Spice Box! I'll give details on Monday!Comments
