The mayor of Urbana is standing by her decision to cut funding to the Champaign County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Mayor Laurel Prussing was a guest today on the WDWS NewsTalk 1400-AM morning show with Dave Gentry and Elizabeth Hess.
Prussing cut nearly $72,000 of funding for the bureau in June. There's since been a heated debate on whether to restore a portion of the funding.
Prussing, however, says the city is just not getting a return on its investment.

Prussing says the money that would have gone to the CVB has been used to hire two police officers. She says that's a good first step in making sure city departments are running efficiently.
