It's a winning streak!  For the first time since the Illini started Big Ten play 2-0, they've won back-to-back games, knocking off Nebraska 60-49.  As the score indicates, the Illini defense was very good tonight, holding the Huskers' top three scorers to 23 combined points and forcing 15 Nebraska turnovers.  The defense will be featured in one of tonight's nominees for the

Ding dong, the losing streak is dead!  The Illini, led by their freshmen, knocked off Penn State 60-55 on the road today.  Kendrick Nunn notched a career-high 19 points, and Malcolm Hill scored 11 in their first career starts.  As you might expect, the freshmen play a prominent role in my nominees for the Dick Van Dyke Appl


Plays of the Game & Efficiency Stats - Wisconsin

The Illini played the role of slump busters tonight, as Wisconsin knocked down 10-23 shots from three-point range in a 75-63 win.  Rayvonte Rice had a strong game with 24 points and nine rebounds, but didn't get a lot of help.  Joe Bertrand and Nnanna Egwu joined Ray in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.  But, as you'll see in the numbers below, this one was lost


Plays of the Game & Efficiency Stats - Indiana

No offense, but the Illini have no offense.  Forgive the bad joke.  Rayvonte Rice bounced back with 20 points, but no other Illini were in double figures, and the Illini dropped their sixth straight game, 56-46 to Indiana.  There were a few good plays sprinkled in, and those will be my nominees for the Dick Van Dyke Appliance World "WO
